Priests of Darakut

A religous order operating from the Monastery of Darakut, surrounding the Sanctum of Darkness.

The Priests of Darakut are an Orcish/Human religious faction devoted to the eternal protection of the Sanctum of Darkness, a sacred site believed to hold immense and ancient power bestowed by Asubah, the Titan God of Shadows. Their lives revolve around safeguarding the sanctum from any who would seek to desecrate or exploit its secrets. To fulfill this vow, they constructed the Monastery of Darakut, a fortress-like sanctuary encircling the sanctum, and swore an oath to defend it until death.

Beliefs & Purpose

The Priests of Darakut worship Asubah, whom they regard as the primordial force of balance between light and darkness. They see themselves as guardians of this equilibrium, ensuring that the sanctum remains untouched by corruption or greed. Their doctrine emphasizes: 

• Sacrifice and Vigilance – Life is service; death is honor. 
• Purity of Shadow – The shrine must remain untainted by mortal ambition. 
• Isolation – Contact with outsiders is forbidden unless in defense of the shrine.

Structure & Hierarchy 

• High Shadowkeeper – Supreme leader and spiritual guide. 
• Dark Sentinels – Elite warrior-monks trained in both martial combat and shadow magic. 
• Sanctum Wardens – Custodians of the sanctum’s sanctity and lore. 
• Initiates – Novices undergoing rigorous ascetic training.

Combat & Abilities 

The Priests of Darakut combine Orcish strength with Human mastery of shadow magic. They wield enchanted polearms and channel dark energy for defensive wards and devastating strikes. Their monastery is fortified with runic barriers, making direct assaults perilous.
