Aetherion is a custom adventure server built on Hytale: a living sandbox that keeps the look and feel of Hytale's survival game, with our own systems layered on top for progression, professions, a player economy and a growing RPG story. It isn't one world but several, each with its own purpose. This page tells you what each one is for.
The Central Nexus is the beating heart of Aetherion: a radiant hub where every journey begins and every path meets. New and seasoned adventurers gather here to travel between worlds, take care of business, and jump straight into the action.
From the Nexus, portals take you to the other worlds. It's also where you'll find the people who keep the realm running: the Etheric Vault (the bank), the Auction House, the Class Master, the Dungeon Keeper and the Guild Registrar. Seasonal events, minigames and community gatherings happen here too.
The Everbuild Expanse is Hytale's own world of Orbis, with its towering forests, rolling plains, frozen peaks and deep caves. It's the world that belongs to the players: claim land, build a permanent base, and make your own corner of Aetherion. Grand settlement or cosy hideout, it's yours to keep.
The Expanse is split into four zones that get tougher as you travel outward:
See Travel for every way to get around.
Protect your builds, farms and treasures by claiming the land they stand on. Nobody else can build or break anything inside your claim unless you let them.
Type /claim to open the claim window and pick the chunks you want. You can claim up to 25 chunks.
Type /scp to rename your claim and choose which players may build in it.
Stand inside your claim and use /sethome, so /home always brings you back.
No. We do not plan to reset the Everbuild Expanse. Your builds, progress and personal spaces are meant to last, and we take regular backups of all our worlds to keep them safe.
Hytale is still in early development, so we can't promise that a future game update will never cause problems for existing worlds. A reset would only ever happen if a major Hytale update made it absolutely necessary, and never without warning. If it ever came to that, we would:
The Shattered Vein is a volatile, high-stakes world, torn apart by a cataclysm that returns every week. When it strikes, the land collapses and rebuilds itself into an entirely new layout.
Resources are limited, the terrain shifts, and the dangers grow with every cycle. It's made for adventurers who like urgency and risk. Anything you leave behind is lost when the world collapses, but the loot, achievements and discoveries you bring out are yours to keep.
Aranel is the central realm of the Aetherion universe and the heart of the RPG adventure: a hand-built world shaped by ancient gods, divided by the rise and fall of the Sanctums, and scarred by centuries of war between the great factions. Every mountain, forest, desert and frozen cliff holds echoes of the past, and new dangers that threaten the future.
This is the world the gods send you back to, centuries before its collapse. As an Ethereal Walker, you carry the power to change the fate of all creation, and Aranel is where you prove yourself.
You'll begin in your faction's homeland, push into harsher lands, and finally reach the darkest, most corrupted corners of the world. Each region has its own biomes, enemies and resources, while factions wage war, cities stand as beacons of civilisation, and forgotten ruins hide rewards for those brave enough to look.
"A land of destiny, discovery and danger, and the place where heroes are forged."
Aetherion is built to suit both peaceful players and fighters. In the Everbuild Expanse, zones 1 to 3 are safe: PvP is off, so you can build and explore in peace. Zone 4, the Devastated Lands, is contested territory and the end-game challenge. PvP is on there, so come prepared.
Defeating players around your level grants experience, and now and then a Champion Mark. Marks are stored safely in the Etheric Vault and can be spent on PvP-focused rewards.
Prefer a fair fight? The Hall of Trials runs organised PvP: 2v2, 3v3, Free for All, Battlegrounds and Etherball.
