Ebardac is the largest and most magnificent Dwarven city in existence, nestled deep within the northern mountains of Bellegast within the towering Mount Modan. It is the second oldest known Dwarven settlement after Irondeep, serves as the political and cultural heart of the Dwarven Conclave, and is home to the Ironfoot Clan. The city is a marvel of engineering, with sprawling underground halls, towering stone fortresses, and forges that burn day and night. The Dwarves of the Blackrock clan, a prominent clan from Irondeep, are celebrated as the finest craftsmen in all of Aetherion. Their legendary Forges produces weapons and armor of unparalleled quality—many of which are said to possess mystical properties unseen elsewhere in the world.
Ebardac is a monarchy ruled by Lord Gullielm Lowein, the current sovereign of the Dwarven Conclave. Succession traditionally passes to the eldest male relative of the reigning monarch, ensuring continuity of leadership. The city is also the seat of the Council of Dwarven Lords, which governs inter-clan relations and oversees alliances such as the Conclave.
Deep within the caverns of Ebardac lies the Elemental Shrine of Earth, a sacred site where the Dwarves believe the gods speak to them. For eons, they have worshipped Lazael, the God of Earth—one of the six ancient gods of Aetherion. Religious ceremonies and offerings at the shrine are central to Dwarven life, reinforcing their bond with the earth they mine and shape.
The Dwarves of Ebardac are miners and warriors by nature, valuing strength, honor, and craftsmanship above all. Their society thrives on discipline and tradition, with a rigid hierarchy that respects both martial prowess and artisanal skill.
