Talasas

Commerce, Navigation, and the Seas

Talasas governs the ebb and flow of wealth and tides, representing prosperity through exchange and mastery over the oceans. He is the youngest child of Arael and Asubah and is one of the 4 Elemental Gods.

Talasas is pragmatic and opportunistic, favoring those who embrace risk and reward. His creed teaches that fortune favors the bold, and that trade and travel are the lifeblood of civilization. He is invoked by merchants, sailors, and explorers seeking safe passage and profitable ventures. Talasas is credited with teaching the first sailors to harness the winds and currents, enabling the spread of civilizations across Aetherion. In the Age of Expansion, his blessing was sought by The Covenant to establish trade routes that united distant realms.

Most coastal cities and small island nations hold Talasas as their patron deity.

  • Symbol:  A Golden Compass overlaid on a Cresting Wave
  • Element: Water

Attributes

  • Temples are often built near harbors, adorned with gilded anchors and flowing banners.

Connections to Other Lore

  • Talasas often allies with Ava (Wind & Compassion) to ensure safe voyages, but clashes with Taar (War & Fire), whose destructive nature threatens maritime peace.
  • His worship is strongest in port cities and among nomadic sea clans who rely on his favor for survival.

Sanctum of Water

Deep beneath the ocean east of Storm Island, within the underwater city of Thalorion. It is the main source of power for Talasas, but unlike the other Sanctums, the denizens of Thalorion are not affiliated with any major faction and rarely venture to the surface. The Sanctum itself is surrounded by coral-encrusted spires, bioluminescent algae lighting sanctum halls, crystal channels with flowing currents. The Sanctum is partially submerged in shimmering tide pools.
