Aetherion is a custom adventure world designed within the Hytale universe. A vast, living sandbox inspired by Hytale’s vanilla overworld but enhanced with subtle, thoughtful improvements that deepen the experience without breaking its familiar charm. This is survival as it was meant to be: free, open‑ended, and shaped by the stories players build together. 

In Aetherion, every biome feels alive. Towering forests, rolling plains, frozen peaks, and mysterious caves invite exploration, resource gathering, and base building. Whether you’re venturing out alone or sharing your journey with friends, the Survival World offers a space where creativity and resilience truly matter. 

But Aetherion isn’t just vanilla. A curated set of lightweight plugins provides structure, security, and long-term progression - without disrupting the spirit of classic survival gameplay. The world remains true to the look and feel of Hytale’s survival gameplay, preserving the magic and exploration players expect while ensuring a modern, stable, community‑friendly environment.

The Worlds of Aetherion

The Central Nexus is the beating heart of Aetherion’s network of worlds - a radiant hub where every journey begins and every path converges. New and seasoned adventurers alike gather here to travel between realms, discover new content, and jump straight into the action. 

Within the Nexus, players can access portals to the Survival World, Adventure Realms, Seasonal Zones, and any future expansions. It’s also home to rotating special events, minigames, and community‑driven activities that keep the world feeling alive and ever‑changing. 

Whether you're meeting friends, preparing for your next expedition, or diving into a festival or competition, the Central Nexus serves as your gateway to everything Aetherion has to offer.

The Everbuild Expanse is Aetherion’s dedicated player‑owned world, a vast open realm where adventurers can claim land, build permanent bases, and establish a true home within the world of Aetherion. Whether you prefer constructing grand settlements, designing cozy hideouts, or shaping the land into something uniquely yours, the Everbuild Expanse offers the freedom to create without limits. 

Players can secure plots of land, protect them from intruders, and develop their own personal corner of the world. It blends creativity, ownership, and progression, giving every player a place they can return to, expand, and proudly call their sanctuary within Aetherion.

Will the world be reset? Will i lose anything i build?

We want to reassure our community that we do not plan to reset the Everbuild Expanse. Your builds, progress, and personal spaces are meant to be long‑term and safe.

That said, Hytale is still in very early development, and we cannot guarantee that future game updates won’t introduce issues that could affect existing worlds. To protect your work, we take regular backups of all our worlds, ensuring we maintain the safest and most stable environment possible for our community.

A world reset would only ever happen if a major Hytale update made it absolutely necessary. Even in that scenario, we would never wipe the world without warning. Instead, we would:

• Create a new world.
• Keep the old world accessible for a generous transition period.
• Give everyone plenty of time to migrate their builds and belongings.

Your safety, progress, and creativity will always be our priority.

Aranel is the central realm of the Aetherion universe and the core setting of your RPG adventure. It is a world shaped by ancient gods, divided by the rise and fall of the Sanctums, and scarred by centuries of conflict between the great factions. Every mountain, forest, desert, and frozen cliff holds echoes of the past - and new dangers that threaten the future.

This is the world the gods send you back to, centuries before its eventual collapse, entrusting you with the power to alter the fate of all creation. As an Ethereal Walker, Aranel becomes your proving ground: a land where every step reveals new challenges, mysteries, and choices that will shape the destiny of the realm.

Aranel is vast and diverse. Its regions range from peaceful grasslands to volatile volcanic deadlands, with each area designed to support different stages of player progression. You’ll begin your journey in your factions homeland, before advancing into harsh zones, and ultimately into the darkest, most corrupted corners of the world. Every zone offers its own biomes, enemies, resources, and dangers, ensuring that your progression feels meaningful and immersive.

The world is alive with movement: factions wage war, creatures roam and evolve, cities rise as beacons of civilization, while the wilderness teems with hostile forces, forgotten ruins, and hidden rewards for those brave enough to search.

Aranel is designed to be explored, mastered, and lived in. Whether you prefer combat, gathering, exploration, or mastering your stats to define your own fighting style, the world adapts to the path you choose. No two journeys are the same, and every player contributes to the ever‑shifting story that unfolds across the realm.

On Aetherion, we strive to maintain a balanced and engaging experience for both PvE and PvP players. To achieve this, the Survival World is divided into two distinct regions:  

1. Zones 1, 2, and 3 – (Safe Zones) These areas are fully protected, and PvP combat is disabled to ensure a relaxed and cooperative environment.  

2. Zone 4 – (Contested Territory) This is our end‑game challenge zone, where PvP is enabled. Players entering Zone 4 should be prepared for heightened risk and strategic encounters.  

Defeating other players within your level range grants XP, and on rare occasions, you may also earn Champion Marks. These marks act as PvP trophies, are automatically stored in the Etheric Vault for safekeeping, and can later be exchanged for exclusive PvP‑focused equipment.

Special Tokens are never sold or traded freely; they reflect your achievements, dedication, and participation in Aetherion’s living world. The bank keeps a perfect ledger of your lifetime token count and current balance.
