Lazael

Earth, Valor, and Endurance

Son of Arael and Asubah, Lazael is one of the 4 Elemental Gods, and is the embodiment of strength, resilience, and honor. His essence permeates the mountains, stone halls, and the unyielding spirit of warriors who fight for righteousness. 

Lazael is revered as the unyielding protector and patron of those who value honor above all. His teachings emphasize perseverance, loyalty, and the defense of one’s homeland. He is often invoked by dwarves and warriors before battle, and by builders seeking strength in their craft.

Attributes

  • Temples to Lazael are carved into mountainsides, adorned with runes and eternal braziers. 
  • Dwarves consider Lazael their chief deity, believing he shaped the mountains and gave them dominion over stone and metal. 

Connections to Other Lore 

  • Legends speak of his intervention during the Battle of Mirac Plateau, where his spirit turned the tide by fortifying the earth beneath The Covenant’s armies.
  • He is credited with raising Mount Modan during the First Age, creating a sanctuary for the dwarves and a bastion against chaos.

Sanctum of Earth

The Sanctum of Earth is located deep within Mount Modan in Bellegast, the mountainous heartland of the Dwarves. It is the spiritual bastion for Dwarves, especially the Ironfoot Clan and other major clans, and is the main source of power for Lazael. It is said to be carved from living stone and Blackrock veins.
