Hive Shoals

Hive Shoals is a deceptively tranquil region—a shimmering expanse of tidal pools, salt flats, and shallow waters dotted with coral-like formations. Beneath this serene surface lurks a nightmare: Scarak burrows and resin-coated nests infest the land, spreading like a living plague. The Scaraks have adapted to the coastal environment, creating sprawling hive networks beneath the sands and shoals, their resin towers jutting like jagged teeth against the horizon. 

The air hums with the sound of chittering mandibles and the distant rumble of shifting sand as Scaraks tunnel relentlessly. Travelers speak of sudden sinkholes swallowing entire caravans, and of resin-coated spires glowing faintly under moonlight—a sign that the hive is expanding.

Zer’Kaelis

Zer’Kaelis stands as the final bulwark between Hive Shoals and Sandorei, preventing Scaraks from overrunning the Kalen’Tir capital. Built on elevated sandstone platforms reinforced with etheric crystal pylons, the fortress overlooks the shoals and commands the only safe route north and east. Its name means “The Last Barrier” in the Kalen’Tir tongue—a testament to its role as the shield of the desert.
