BOOMPORT

Rising in tiered wooden and iron terraces along the sheltered southern bay of the Rustreef Isles, Boomport is the vibrant, smoke-haze hub of the Skywright Cartel. Built directly into the coastal cliffs facing the main Storm Island, this bustling port city hums day and night with the sound of whirring propellers, clattering machinery, and booming laughter.

The Lower Levels: The Docks & The Grind

The base of Boomport sits flush against the sea and the lower cliffside, serving as the commercial and blue-collar heart of the city. Sturdy, multi-story shacks crafted from salvaged planks and ship hulls line the narrow streets, housing the local mechanics, shipwrights, and sailors.

  • The Spark-Forged Assembly: Tucked safely in the inner quarter of the lower level, this sprawling, gear-filled workshop is an engineer’s paradise. Packed with steam-powered lathes, arc-welders, and explosive-testing booths, players can use the specialized machinery here to craft unique goblin gadgets - such as deployable pocket gliders, steam-propelled grappling guns, volatile grenade kits, and jet-thruster boots.
  • The Rust & Rivet Tavern: A raucous, soot-stained dive bar built into an inverted ship hull right along the lower docks. It’s loud, serves notoriously strong, glowing green brew, and is the best place to hire airship mercenaries or pick up rumors about the Rust-Spike Cartel.
  • Grizzlespit’s Charcoal Pit: Goblins are obsessed with meat, and this open-air smokehouse is constantly enveloped in a cloud of savory, hickory smoke. Serving everything from slow-roasted boar meat to flame-charred "Mystery-Skewers," it’s the go-to spot for players to purchase stat-boosting meats and field rations.

The Upper Levels: The Cloud-Deck & Executive Plaza

Connected to the bottom tier by heavy industrial cargo elevators and rickety staircase-ramps, the upper level sits high atop the cliffs, catching the steady sea breezes necessary for airship launches. While still crammed with hillside housing, the central plaza serves as Boomport's civic, technical, and aerial transit nerve center.

  • The Cloud-Spire Mooring Mast: Dominating the upper skyline, this towering steel-and-iron spire reaches high above the cliff edge. Outfitted with heavy magnetic winches, retractable boarding gantries, and steam-driven cranes, it allows Skywright airships, trading vessels, and player vessels to dock safely above the coastal winds to unload high-value cargo and passengers.
  • The Skywright Directorate: The grandest structure in Boomport, constructed from reinforced airship plating and topped with wind vanes and brass clocks. Located right in the central plaza near the mooring tower, this is where the bosses of the Skywright Cartel negotiate trade contracts, issue bounties, and manage city logistics.
  •  The Power Plant: A towering, copper-domed facility that hums with immense energy. It channels refined fuel from the Sludgeworks and lightning energy harvested from storm clouds to power Boomport’s heavy cranes, lift elevators, and workshop machinery.
  • The Nexus Gateway: Situated on a marble-paved platform near the main plaza, this stabilized arcane portal links the remote Rustreef Isles directly back to the central nexus, allowing travelers to instantly warp between the regions.
  • The High-Proof Propeller: An upscale (by goblin standards) rooftop lounge overlooking the airship tower and the administrative plaza. Featuring polished brass tables, copper taps, and a sweeping view of the ocean, it's where wealthy merchant-engineers, captains, and visiting dignitaries toast to successful voyages.

The Western Overlook: The Skitter-Stage

Perched on the western cliffs looking out over the open ocean and the sunset, this wooden amphitheater is built right over the sheer drop. Here, off-duty goblins gather to unleash their manic energy on the Skitter-Stage - a local cultural phenomenon where goblins compete in frantic, high-tempo dance-offs, complete with percussion beats played on oil drums, fire-breathing tricks, and acrobatic flips.
