Introducing a new UI element, new death mechanics and more.
An integral part of any well-established server is the collection of player statistics, allowing individuals to track their progress and showcase their achievements on leaderboards.
Our system records a wide range of data, including the types and number of mobs defeated, player deaths, PvP eliminations, general combat kills, and even the number of times specific boss encounters have been successfully completed. This comprehensive tracking ensures a competitive and rewarding experience for all players.
The leaderboard feature is scheduled to be released between June and July, providing players with the opportunity to compare their performance and showcase their achievements once it becomes available.
The most significant addition in this update is the redesigned user interface (UI). It has been carefully crafted to enable players to quickly and intuitively identify key information, such as previewing the contents of a chest, assessing the difficulty level of a mob, or monitoring the status of a growing crop. This enhanced interface is intended to further enrich the role-playing (RP) experience by providing greater clarity and immersion.
Below is a detailed breakdown of each interface component.
The Mob Target Interface is the most critical of all, providing players with essential combat information at a glance. It displays both the level and current health of the targeted mob, enabling informed decision-making during encounters.
Mob levels are visually represented through a color-coded system, with each color indicating relative difficulty:
P.S. - For now, the crop and bench interface have temporarily been disabled as we look into an issue causing clients to crash.
As part of this update, we have refined the death mechanics to provide a more structured and player-friendly experience. Instead of your items being scattered upon death, they will now be securely stored within a gravestone that appears at the location where you fell.
Players have approximately 15 minutes to return and reclaim their belongings before the gravestone becomes accessible to others. This system offers temporary protection for your items while also helping to maintain a cleaner and more organized game environment.
It’s important to note that this gravestone mechanic applies exclusively to player deaths and does not affect mobs.
Following the success of the Collections Framework, we are excited to introduce two new mounts for players to collect.
Blightpaw, an undead hound, has been added as a rare drop from the Bleached Hounds found in Zone 4. This fearsome mount embodies the decay and ferocity of the wild, offering a dark and striking addition to any collection.
We are also pleased to welcome a new creature to the Bestiary of Aetherion — the Zerava, a wild, striped equine that roams the savannahs. Defeating these creatures provides a chance to obtain our brand-new mount: the Sunfang Zerava, a swift and radiant companion inspired by the harsh beauty of its native lands.
In addition, butterflies have been introduced across the world. These elegant and vibrant insects can now be found fluttering throughout forests and plains in the early zones, adding more life and atmosphere to your journey.
The following are further bug fixes deployed as part of this update:
When browsing the server list, we kindly ask for your support by leaving a like on our server. Your feedback helps improve our visibility and overall rating, allowing us to grow and enhance the experience for all players.
Lastely... Please keep in mind that all of these new systems and updates are still undergoing active refinement. As Hytale continues to evolve, we will likewise update and improve our plugins, logic, and internal frameworks to stay aligned with the game’s development.
This means that certain gear stats, item information, recipes, and crafting mechanics may continue to change over time. While the current implementation is stable, nothing is fully final - your feedback will help shape the polished versions of these systems as they mature.
As always, if you have suggestions, ideas, or comments, please share them with us on our official Discord server. Your input helps shape the future of Aetherion.
Happy exploring! 🌿✨
