Target UI is fixed and a number of small quality of life changes deployed.
Last week, we introduced the new Target UI - a dedicated interface that displays detailed information about the object or entity currently in your focus. Initially, this feature was limited to mobs and NPCs. We have now expanded its functionality to include environmental elements as well. The Target UI now provides insights into blocks you are looking at, including crop types and their growth stages. Additionally, it offers real-time processing data for interactive structures, such as displaying completion percentages for benches like furnaces. This enhancement delivers a more informative and immersive experience by giving players immediate access to contextual details directly within the UI.
Another important feature introduced is the implementation of contextual in-game notifications. As players progress, they will receive periodic reminders designed to enhance their overall experience and awareness. These notifications provide helpful prompts, such as encouraging players to vote, guiding them on how to access their progression systems, and outlining the best ways to get in touch with the team for support or feedback. This ensures that key information remains easily accessible without disrupting gameplay, helping players stay informed and engaged throughout their journey on the Aetherion server.
This week’s update introduces a powerful new storage solution: Void Chests. Void Chests allow players to securely store and access their items across dimensions, eliminating the risk of loss or multiplayer theft. Items placed within a Void Chest are not tied to a single physical location, but instead, they are linked across all Void Chests owned by the player. This means that any Void Chest you place anywhere in the world provides immediate access to your stored items, offering unmatched convenience and flexibility. Whether you are exploring distant regions or managing resources across multiple bases, Void Chests ensure your belongings are always within reach.Void Chests are also available at the bank in Central Nexus as well as the Inn when entering the Everbuild Expanse.
To support our core principle of player progression, we have expanded the existing armor system to better align with each player’s development stage. All armor sets now feature a structured tier progression consisting of five levels: Normal → Reinforced → Enhanced → Superior → Masterwork. Each tier represents a significant upgrade, offering improved strength, durability, and overall stat bonuses.
Players can upgrade their armor through the appropriate Armorer’s Bench, allowing them to continually enhance their gear rather than replacing it outright. This feature was introduced in response to player feedback highlighting that certain armor sets - particularly high-tier gear such as Mithril and Adamantite—lost relevance once higher levels were reached. By introducing tiered progression, we have rebalanced the equipment system to ensure that all armor sets maintain their value and viability throughout the player’s journey.
One of the most significant upcoming additions to the Aetherion universe is the Arena Update. This update introduces two major new instance types designed to enhance player engagement: PvE Arenas and PvP Arenas. The PvE Arenas will enable players to team up and face increasingly challenging waves of enemies within custom-designed battlegrounds. These encounters are built to encourage coordination, strategy, and progression, offering a dynamic cooperative experience. The PvP Arenas, on the other hand, provide a competitive environment where players can challenge each other directly. Each arena features distinct layouts, atmospheric elements, and environmental challenges, ensuring that every battle feels unique and memorable.
At launch, two arenas will be introduced as part of this update. Blackrest Cemetery will serve as an intense PvP arena designed for smaller-scale encounters, supporting up to two players in a free-for-all format. Its dark, atmospheric setting creates a tense and immersive backdrop for close-quarters combat. In contrast, the Zan’Thar Trial Grounds is a much larger and more dynamic arena, accommodating up to six players in a chaotic free-for-all battle experience. Designed to deliver fast-paced and unpredictable encounters, it emphasizes both scale and environmental immersion. Beyond PvP, the Zan’Thar Trial Grounds will also act as the foundation for PvE wave-based combat, where players can enter the arena to face progressively challenging waves of enemies. This dual-purpose design ensures that the arena remains a central and versatile feature within the Aetherion gameplay experience.
The following are further bug fixes deployed as part of this update:

Lastely... Please keep in mind that all of these new systems and updates are still undergoing active refinement. As Hytale continues to evolve, we will likewise update and improve our plugins, logic, and internal frameworks to stay aligned with the game’s development.
This means that certain gear stats, item information, recipes, and crafting mechanics may continue to change over time. While the current implementation is stable, nothing is fully final - your feedback will help shape the polished versions of these systems as they mature.
As always, if you have suggestions, ideas, or comments, please share them with us on our official Discord server. Your input helps shape the future of Aetherion.
Happy exploring! 🌿✨
