Community Server Update 2

We continue to add new features and improve the overall player experience.

We are already in February, and nearly a month has passed since the official release of Hytale. During this time, our team has continued working diligently to elevate the Aetherion server. Our mission remains unchanged: to deliver a secure, stable, and immersive environment - one that enhances gameplay while giving you confidence as you explore, build, and connect with others.

In the past few days, we have focused on completing the central nexus and establishing the foundation of our economy system. To support these developments, we have created several custom in‑house plugins designed specifically for Aetherion.

New Features & Enhancements

CLAIM SYSTEM

We have successfully deployed the new claim system, enabling players to safeguard their builds from griefing and unauthorized modifications. By using the /claim command while standing in the area you wish to protect, you can now secure your structures with ease.

At this stage, each player may create up to three claims. As we continue to expand and refine the claim framework, additional options and functionality will be introduced. Future updates are planned to include features such as PvP flagging and a fire‑spread prevention flag, the latter of which will be supported in Hytale’s upcoming Update 3.

INTRODUCING THE ECONOMY UPDATE AND THE ETHERIC VAULT

We have introduced a new currency to the world of Aetherion: Gold. Gold can be earned through various activities and obtained as drops from specific mobs. It behaves like any other item in Hytale - you can carry multiple stacks, with each stack holding up to 999 gold coins. However, be cautious: if you are defeated while carrying gold, you will lose a small percentage of the amount in your inventory.

To keep your gold secure, you can store it within the Etheric Vault, a specialized bank located in the central nexus. Simply visit the vault and speak with our helpful Klop bankers, who are always ready to assist with your financial needs.

In addition to tracking your accumulated wealth, the Etheric Vault also allows you to deposit and withdraw essences, ensuring your most valuable resources remain safe while you explore and adventure.

THe New updated HUB (Central NEXUS)

We have been hard at work refining the Central Nexus, which, as mentioned in our previous update, plays a vital role in the overall community experience. It serves as the very first area players encounter, and we want it to feel alive, functional, and central to your journey across Aetherion.

The Nexus now includes the following key features:

1) THE ETHERIC VAULT - A secure and intuitive banking system where players can store their hard‑earned gold and essences. Designed for simplicity and safety, the vault ensures your valuables remain protected while you explore the world.

2) THE AUCTION HOUSE (WORK IN PROGRESS) - Our evolving marketplace will allow players to sell excess gear, materials, and resources directly to others. This feature is part of the broader economy update and will offer a seamless way to earn gold and participate in the player‑driven market.

3) MEMORY TOTEM - The Memory Totem has been relocated to the central plaza of the Nexus, giving players convenient access to its key utility without needing to travel far.

4) THE AETHERION PANTHEON - Our largest and most ambitious build to date. This grand celestial complex will house a variety of facilities designed to support players throughout their adventures. It also serves as the sacred residence of the Six Elder Gods of Aetherion, making it a major lore centerpiece within the Nexus.

5) ELEMENTAL ISLES - Surrounding the Nexus are four newly introduced islands known as the Elemental Isles, each representing a distinct elemental domain. Additional information regarding their purpose and functionality will be revealed in an upcoming update.

AUCTION SYSTEM

As part of the ongoing economy update, we are introducing a fully featured auction system. If you have materials, gear, or other items gathering dust in your home, worry no more—soon you’ll be able to list them on the auction platform and sell them directly to other players. It’s a simple and efficient way to free up storage space while earning some extra gold in the process.

More details on how the auction system works will be shared as development progresses.

RPG FRAMEWORK

We have begun development on the new RPG Framework, which will significantly enhance your gameplay experience. This system introduces three new core attributes for all players: Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence. Alongside these additions, you will now be able to level up, with each level granting increases to your base stats and further personalizing your character’s progression.

More information about the RPG Framework, including how these stats will interact with gear, weapons, and future systems, will be shared at a later date.
